서울로 전학을 가게 된 이유는 재수를 위해 서울로 간 친형을 따라간 것이라고.The reason I transferred to Seoul was because I followed my brother who went to Seoul to retake the school. 유연석은 "형 재수학원이 경기고 근처에 있었다.Yoo Yeon-seok said, "My brother's retake academy was near Gyeonggi-do. 어릴 때부터 배우가 꿈이었는데, 거기(진주)서는 (연기를) 배울 데가 없어서 형이 재수할 때 따라가서 연기학원 다니겠다고 했다"며 "아버지가 저한테는 '대신 너는 재수는 없다' 하셨다.My dream was to be an actor since I was young, but there (Jinju) had nowhere to learn (acting), so I said I would follow my brother to go to an acting academy when he retook the exam. "My father said to me, 'Instead, you have no luck.' 아버지가 제가 연기를 하고 싶다는 것에 반대는 없었다.My father had no objection to my desire to act. 형이 재수 하면서 고생을 많이 하다보니 제가 성적이 나쁘진 않았다.My brother suffered a lot while retaking the exam, so my grades were not bad. 다행히 첫 해에 (대학에) 붙어서 운좋게 계속 연극영화과에서 연기를 하다가 데뷔했다"고 이야기했다.Fortunately, I got accepted to the university in the first year, and fortunately, I made my debut after continuing acting in the department of theater and film."
유연석은 대학 시절 연애 경험담을 털어놓기도 했다.Yoo Yeon-seok also shared his experiences in college.
