세계 3대 패션학교 중 하나인 벨기에 앤트워프 왕립예술학교를 졸업한 황재근은 자신만의 브랜드를 론칭했다.Hwang Jae-geun, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, one of the world's top three fashion schools, launched his own brand.
하지만 그는 사업 실패로 인한 빚 독촉으로 극단적 선택을 생각할 정도였다고.However, he even thought about making an extreme choice as a result of his business failure. 황재근은 "브랜드 하려면 패션쇼도 해야 되고 사무실도 해야 되고 청담동에 쇼룸도 렌털 하고 그러면 생산비, 쇼비, 무슨 비 하려면 그 돈이 제가 없으니까, 다 대출받았었다"고 밝혔다.Hwang Jae-geun said, "To do a brand, I have to do a fashion show, an office, and if I rent a showroom in Cheongdam-dong, I don't have the production cost, show fee, or anything to pay, so I took out all the loans."

황재근은 "나중에는 카드 대출, 보험 대출 다 받아서 더 이상 받을 게 없었다.Hwang Jae-geun said, "Afterwards, I received both card loans and insurance loans, so I had nothing more to get. 계속 옷이 많이 안 팔려서 뉴욕부터 해서 홍콩, 싱가포르, 이탈리아 다 갔는데 잘 안돼서 한꺼번에 확 들어와 가지고 못 갚으니까 그래서 부도났다.I went from New York to Hong Kong, Singapore, and Italy because I didn't sell a lot of clothes, but it didn't work out well, so I couldn't pay them back at once, so I went bankrupt. 다 망했다"고 당시를 떠올렸다.It's all ruined," he recalled.
당시 3억 원에 빚이 있던 황재근은 "가면 만드는 일 하면서부터 갚게 됐다.Hwang Jae-geun, who owed 300 million won at the time, said, "I've been paying back since I was working on making masks. 빚 갚으려고 시작한 게 그 일이었다.It was the job that I started to pay off my debts. 가면 만드는 일을 한 6,7년 했고 1000개 넘게 했다.I've been working on making masks for about six or seven years, and I've done more than 1,000 masks. 그거 하면서부터 유명세를 많이 타서 여러 디자인 프로나 행사나 광고나 디자인 컬래버를 여러 가지 많이 해서 그때 돈 들어오면 빚 갚고 해서 다 같았다"고 밝혔다."Since then, I've gained a lot of fame, so I've done a lot of design programs, events, advertisements, and design collaborations, and when I get paid, I've been paying off my debts, he said.
