12월 23일 방송된 채널A 크리스마스 스페셜 ‘금쪽같은 오둥이’에서는 다섯 쌍둥이의 탄생기가 공개 됐다.Channel A's Christmas special "Golden Odung," which aired on December 23, revealed the birth of the quintuplets.
오둥이 가족은 정기 검진을 위해 출산을 진행했던 병원을 찾았다.The Odung family visited the hospital where they had given birth for regular checkups. 검사를 마친 후 부부는 오둥이 출산을 도와준 산부인과 전문의 전종관 교수를 찾아갔다.After the examination, the couple visited Professor Jeon Jong-kwan, an obstetrician who helped give birth to Odongi.
엄마 서혜정 씨는 “전종관 교수님을 만나기 전에 ‘선택적 유산을 해야 하나?Seo Hye-jeong, my mother, said, "Should I have a selective miscarriage before I meet Professor Jeon Jong-kwan?" 해야만 하나?’라는 생각으로 병원에 갔다.I went to the hospital thinking, "Should I?" 다섯 개 심장 소리를 듣는데 마지막 심장 소리가 엄청 컸다.I heard the sound of five hearts, and the sound of the last heart was so loud. 집에 오는 길에 많이 울었다.I cried a lot on my way home. 그 소리를 듣고 나니 그런 선택을 할 수가 없겠더라”고 말했다.When I heard that sound, I couldn't make that choice."
김진수 씨는 “다섯 명을 안전하게 낳고 싶어서 쌍둥이를 제일 많이 출산한 분을 찾아갔다”라고 회상했다.Kim Jin-soo recalled, "I wanted to give birth to five people safely, so I visited the person who gave birth to the most twins."
전종관 교수는 “만약에 다섯 명의 아기를 이끌고 가지 않는다고 하면 결국은 한 명이나 두 명을 선택해야 한다.Professor Jeon Jong-kwan said, "If you don't lead five babies, you have to choose one or two in the end. 하지만 선택하는 기준이 애매하다.However, the criteria for choosing are ambiguous. 크기가 작든지, 아기집이 작든지, 아니면 아기를 희생시킬 수 있는 배 쪽이나 질 쪽으로 선택 유산하든지”라며 “사람들이 오해하는 것 중 하나는 아기를 한 명이나 두 명을 희생시키면 다른 아이들의 예후가 좋을지 사실은 잘 모른다.Whether it's small in size, a nursery, or a miscarriage of choice toward the belly or vagina that can sacrifice a baby, one of the things people misunderstand is whether sacrificing one or two babies will have a good prognosis for other children. 희생된 아기가 같이 있을 때 나머지 아기가 같이 나올 위험도 있다”라고 다섯 명 출산을 진행한 이유를 밝혔다.There is a risk that the rest of the babies will come out together when the sacrificed babies are together," he said, explaining the reason for the five births.
